چکیده

The recent NICER measurement of the radius neutron star PSR J0740+6620, and inferred small variation radii from 1.4$M_\odot$ to 2.1$M_\odot$, reveal key features equation state matter. pressure rises rapidly in regime baryon density $n \sim$ 2-4 times nuclear saturation density, $n_0$ -- region where we expect hadronic matter be undergoing transformation into quark is greater than predicted by microscopic many-body variational calculations To incorporate these insights physics regimes, construct an state, QHC21, within framework quark-hadron crossover (QHC). We include results primarily based on state-of-the-art chiral effective field theory, but also note using empirical forces. employ explicit degrees freedom only up \sim 1.5n_0$, order explore possibility further physical nucleonic here. resulting which has a peak sound velocity $\sim 2$-$4 n_0$, stiffer earlier QHC19 below 2$n_0$, predicting larger substantial agreement with data.

Neutron Star Matter Equation of State and Gravitational Wave Emission

The EOS of strongly interacting matter at densities ten to fifteen orders of magnitude larger than the typical density of terrestrial macroscopic objects determines a number of neutron star properties, including the pattern of gravitational waves emitted following the excitation of nonradial oscillation modes. This paper reviews some of the approaches employed to model neutron star matter, as w...

Relativistic Equation of State of Nuclear Matter for Supernova and Neutron Star

We construct the equation of state (EOS) of nuclear matter using the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory in the wide density, temperature range with various proton fractions for the use of supernova simulation and the neutron star calculations. We first construct the EOS of homogeneous nuclear matter. We use then the Thomas-Fermi approximation to describe inhomogeneous matter, where heavy nucl...

Constraints on the Equation of State of Neutron Star Matter From Observations of Kilohertz QPOs

The frequencies of the highest-frequency kilohertz QPOs recently discovered in some sixteen neutron stars in low-mass X-ray binary systems are most likely the orbital frequencies of gas in Keplerian orbit around these neutron stars. If so, these QPOs provide tight upper bounds on the masses and radii of these neutron stars and important new constraints on the equation of state of neutron star m...

The Equation of State of Neutron-star Matter in Strong Magnetic Fields

We study the effects of very strong magnetic fields on the equation of state (EOS) in multicomponent, interacting matter by developing a covariant description for the inclusion of the anomalous magnetic moments of nucleons. For the description of neutron star matter, we employ a field-theoretical approach which permits the study of several models which differ in their behavior at high density. ...

Neutron Star Interiors and the Equation of State of Superdense Matter

Neutron stars contain matter in one of the densest forms found in the Universe. This feature, together with the unprecedented progress in observational astrophysics, makes such stars superb astrophysical laboratories for a broad range of exciting physical studies. This paper gives an overview of the phases of dense matter predicted to make their appearance in the cores of neutron stars. Particu...
